Brother Knights,

2011 was a year of spiritual growth for our Council.  We can tally last year in the "good years” column of Council 9918, St. Joan of Arc, Omaha!

We're excited to have successfully executed all of our planned activities (well, maybe you could consider one of them to be rather challenging to actually complete, eh Bob M.?)  From Pancakes Breakfasts to Priest's Appreciation Dinner; from One Rose One Life to Life Chain; from Corporate Communion to Rosaries at Crowne Pointe; from Officer's Meetings and General Meetings to State Convention; from Easter Egg Hunt to Cheerios Hunt (cleaning the church pews); from Haunted House Outing to Server's Outing; from Free Throw Contest to Academic Scholarship and Seminarian support; from the Awards Banquet to the Christmas Dinner . . .

Some unexpected events occurred, with the transition of brother Knights to the spiritual world.  We remember and pray for them, and their loved ones, in remembrance of their presence in our hearts and their eternal souls.  Supporting our Brother Knights and their families is the fundamental principal of our founding by Fr. Michael J. McGivney (http://www.fathermcgivney.org/en/index.html).  It is our hope that we have been good stewards of this intention.

Looking forward into 2012, extend the hand of fraternity to "good Catholic men” of St. Joan of Arc.  Extend a sincere invitation to all of your Brothers to join in the activities, gatherings, and celebrations that enhance our daily lives.  Enlighten and Encourage eligible men to consider becoming Knights.

Please thank Fr. Dan Soltys for his encouragement, prodding, and praises of the Knights of Columbus.  As our Chaplain, we pray with him for continuing enrichment and guidance in our efforts.  Thanks is also extended to Fr. Patrick Harrison for his leadership and commitment to St. Joan of Arc for many years.  Thank you to Deacon Ron Ryan and Julie for supporting our parish.  (Note that Ron is still the elusive fish in the pond of eligible Knights ;)

Blessings to all in this year of liturgical transition,

Your Brother Knights
